I am a highly experienced and qualified tutor offering in-person and online tuition in History and English.
I provide one-to-one tuition for students studying for the following SQA qualifications:
- National 4 History
- National 4 English
- National 5 History
- National 5 English
- Higher History
I work with students who are attending school or college, as well as students who are unable to attend or are home-educated.

To make my services accessible for students throughout Scotland, I offer both in-person and online tutoring.
I tutor in person from my home in Newburgh, Fife. For online tuition, I use the platform Zoom.
The benefits of one-to-one tuition
In a mainstream class, there is one teacher to approximately 30 students. Realistically, it is not possible for the class teacher to tailor their teaching methods and materials to each student’s individual learning style and needs. Moreover, for some students, the classroom environment is not conducive to learning; it can be noisy and distracting, even overwhelming. Interactions with peers and staff can also cause anxiety. One-to-one tutoring helps to overcome these issues, providing an opportunity to learn outwith the traditional classroom.
